Many times throughout the years I’ve heard people say “I don’t know how to make beef jerky…but I like to eat it.”
Other times I’d hear “Jerky is hard to make. I don’t know what meat to use for making it and I don’t have a slicer or a dehydrator.”
These are excuses.
The great news is we’re going to inform you what cuts of meat to use for making jerky at home. You already know which jerky marinade/jerky seasoning is the best for you to use, it’s right here. Jerky Gold Marinade.
There are options for picking a proper cut of beef for making beef jerky. Typically the best type of meat to use is a whole beef eye round (comes in a log shape and is usually over 5 LBS check your supermarkets flyers for sales) there’s no waste on Eye Round, most of the meat is useful for jerky.
Another choice for meat is a london broil roast and also a top or bottom round roast as well. Always check your Sunday paper for any sales on these types of meats.
Remember for every 3 LBS of meat that gets dehydrated it equals 1 LB of jerky.
